Kicks Against Breast Cancer

White Flint Mall in Bethesda, MD, and the Washington Freedom are partnering together for the 2009 season.  Kicks Against Breast Cancer is the first venture.  The entire Washington Freedom team and other local celebrities will lead a "dribble-thon" to increase awareness and raise money for breast cancer. 

The Washington Freedom is a member of the Women’s Professional Soccer league, which began play March 29, 2009.  Players include US Women’s National Team stars Abby Wambach and Cat Whitehill, Japanese star Homare Sawa and former University of Maryland star Emily Janss.  Also scheduled to appear in the course of the day will be Charles Mann, former Washington Redskin player, Screech, the Washington Nationals mascot in addition to a DC United player (TBD).
