ITIP Course For Instructors

The State Referee Instructional Program is sponsoring an ITIP course to be held in Northern Virginia on January 31, February 1, February 7, and February 8 (two consecutive Saturday/Sundays).  The class will meet all four days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and attendance at all four sessions is required in order to complete the training.  All class sessions will be held at Falls Church High School.  We are currently investigating the availability of hotel space at reduced rates for those who may be coming from a distance.

Successful completion requires a passing grade on a written examination of ITIP principles and concepts as well as satisfactory evaluations of platform skills as demonstrated in several presentations occurring over the duration of the course.

This ITIP class (32 hours total training) is needed to meet the requirement to upgrade from Associate Referee Instructor (grade 9) to Provisional Referee Instructor (grade 8).  Although attendance is open to all grade 9 instructors, registration for the class requires the endorsement of your Area Instructor as confirmation that you have actively and satisfactorily participated in the instructional program in your area.

Registration for the ITIP class involves sending an email message to your Area Instructor indicating your desire to attend.  The Area Instructor will forward this message to the State Office with his endorsement or will reply directly back to you if further information is needed.  This step should be completed no later than December 15, 2003.  The extra time in advance is needed in order to prepare the materials to be distributed to attendees.

Further information will be sent to all registered attendees shortly before the end of the year regarding materials to be reviewed, materials to bring to class, hotel options, costs, etc.
