Heading the Ball for U-11 and Younger
Effective March 21, 2016 / UPDATE JUNE 2, 2016
** IMPORTANT INFORMATION **
US Soccer released an update to the Player Safety Campaign and, in particular, a clarification concerning the previous recommendation that Heading the Ball would be eliminated in all training and competition for players 10 years old and younger (U11), as well as limiting the training of heading the ball for players on U12/U13 teams (11 to 12 years old).
The Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) has provided a rule change for competitions that the State Referee Program will adhere to and referees will enforce.
