DC United announced that, as part of a national referee training program, it will conduct referee seminars following three of its home games (Chicago Fire on April 24, LA Galaxy on July 17, and MetroStars on October 17).  Each seminar will feature the match officials and assessors and will provide opportunities for referees to ask questions about techniques, game situations, and professional development.  Attendees must purchase a ticket for the game in order to participate in the seminar afterward but there is no need to "sign up" for the event in advance.  (Click here to view the flyer announcing the program.)

 

The State Referee Program has approved giving attendees credit for the training they need to complete in order to recertify for 2005.  Available only to referees in grades 12, 9, and 8, the requirements for this credit can be reviewed in the policy statement recently issued by the State Director of Instruction.  (Click here to see the policy statement providing details about how to receive 2005 recertification training credit.)
