Advanced Referee Training and Regional Professional Clinic Have Been Scheduled

The Metro DC-Virginia State Referee Program in conjunction with the National Program for Referee Development of USSF is pleased to announce that an advanced/intermediate referee training course and a regional professional referee clinic have been scheduled in February and March 2006.

On February 5, 2006, an Advanced Referee training clinic will be held at Germanna Community College, Fredericksburg, VA. Instructors from the National Program for Referee Development of the USSF will conduct a training course on advanced referee issues. Any senior referee registered in DCV who is not yet recertified for 2006 may use this clinic as a final opportunity to meet the requirements for attendance at a senior recertification instruction clinic. Referee tests will be administered at the end of this clinic. Clinic instruction begins at 9:30 AM. All referees must pre-register through the on-line registration at www.vadcsoccerref.com. Cost of the clinic is $20. Box lunches will be ordered and will be based on pre-registration.

Also, the National Program for Referee Development of USSF in conjunction with the State Referee Programs of DCV and Maryland will conduct a Regional Professional Clinic on March 4, 2006 for eligible referees interested in working professional level games. The site for this clinic will be announced at a later date.

Senior instructors or assessors (state level or higher) as well as active administrators are also invited to attend this clinic to be aware of the instruction that officials are receiving at the professional level. Officials from neighboring states who wish to attend must submit the endorsement of the SRA of their state. Physical fitness tests will be conducted prior to the instruction session.

Any DCV referee interested in attending this clinic must contact the State Office for pre-registration. Please send e-mail to mdcvasrp@erols.com.
